Withdrawal from service contracts

Which contracts does this cover?

This information concerns paid service contracts with consumers concluded at a distance or away from business premises. The information provided before conclusion of the specific contract applies. A contact enquiry alone is not a contract.

Period and declaration

You can generally withdraw from such a contract without giving a reason within 14 days of its conclusion. The period does not begin before the legally required withdrawal information has been provided. Send a clear withdrawal declaration to Meryem Dogan / Project UX, Max-Brod-Straße 20, 44328 Dortmund, Germany, or email dogan@directbox.com. Sending it before the deadline is sufficient. The template below is optional.

Reimbursements

Following a valid withdrawal, payments received are reimbursed without undue delay and no later than 14 days after receipt of the withdrawal declaration. The original payment method is used unless another method has been expressly agreed. No reimbursement fees are charged.

Starting work during the withdrawal period

An early start during the withdrawal period requires your express request. Proportionate payment for services already performed may only be required where the statutory conditions, including the necessary information and declarations, are satisfied. A contact-form enquiry is not such a request.

Full performance

For a paid service contract, the right may expire before the end of the period upon full performance if, before work began, you expressly consented to the early start and acknowledged that full performance would cause you to lose the right to withdraw. Further statutory requirements, particularly for off-premises contracts, remain unaffected.
